Ultima-MT-2 was initially created as a possible preventive measure for various types of skin cancer. The idea was that artificially stimulating the body's tanning process in individuals who are at a higher risk of developing skin cancer due to sun exposure could potentially reduce their chances of contracting the disease later in life.

In addition to offering a tan without requiring extensive sun exposure, along with possible enhancements in sexual performance and desire, MT-2 may also assist in reducing appetite by targeting an appetite-suppression receptor in the brain. This impact is not overwhelming but is perceptible to most users and is seen as beneficial by many. The longevity of the drug's tanning effect after a user stops taking it will be influenced by several factors. However, most users will observe that the tan achieved fades and becomes less noticeable within four to eight weeks after discontinuing the drug.

For most people, during the loading phase with the hormone, a dose of roughly 0.015 to 0.02 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per injection should be adequate. These injections can be administered anywhere from twice a day to as infrequently as once every other day or longer. During the maintenance phase, many users find that a dose of about 0.01 milligrams per kilogram of body weight given once every few days is enough to sustain the effects of the hormone.
